Everybody can make homegrown weed of the highest quality - probably better than anything you will ever buy from a dealer.
Be aware that this is only for growers with a license to grow because of medical matters - it

is still illegal to grow this marveless plant in most countries that i am aware of.

Basic stuff about the marijuana plant

I will not go much into dept about this, so if you find the information lacking - you're just too good for this guide.

There basically are two main groups of marijuana plants:
Indica
These plants tend to give you a more calm high making you want to sit and watch tv or maybe for sleep or pain releaf. Indica plants are more compact to grow which makes them easier for indoor growth because you mostly do not need to tie these up with strings.These plants flower and makes buds faster than Sativas making them preferred for most cash croppers

Sativa

These variaties are often preffered by many more experienced smokers. It takes a little more to grow but the end product is well worth the wait for many growers. These plants grow long and tall often with more fluffy buds, but very potent stuff that give you an up high. This is the weed you want if you want an active high for working in the garden or cleaning the house.. or just conversating. This is also the family that mostly make people burst out in laugh. Very rarely do you find this from a dealer. The people that grow this are entusiasts that are not cash croppers.
The popular "Haze" varieties are for instance sativas. Some "Jack Herer" phenotypes are very sativa dominant - excellent plants.

Hybrids
These strains are created by crossing very different plants - often for instance a sativa mother and indica father plant or vice versa. This type of seed is called a F1 seed - the first generation. This creates some very strong plants that grow well due to the "hybrid growth" - this is also used for manipulating for instance tomato strains. In this way you can for instance create a marijuana plant that has a buzz of the sativa but a plant with even larger and denser buds due to the indica influence. "Jack Herer" is a multi-way-hybrid which means that you have furtherly bred on

The life cycle of the marijuana plant

After planting the seed the plant will enter the vegetative stadium and keep this as long as it has about 13 hours of light each day. Usually in this stage the plants are kept under 18-24 hours of light.

This is how the plant controls when to start flowering because winter is getting nearer.
When the plant has 12 hours of complete dark it will start flowering and about 1,5-3 months later the buds are ready for harvest.

So this means that as long as you keep lights over a plant, you can trim it and take cuttings like a bonzai. This off course is hard to control when growing outdoor.

The very basics of growing weed

There is a big difference between growing weed indoor and outdoor.
You can grow very potent marijuana both from indoor and outdoor growing - it's a matter of taste.

Outdoor the sunlight is free, but you do not control the weather like you do indoor.

Outdoor you can grow hughe plants for free but indoor you can do more stuff like cloning a favorite plant and grow her over and over (you can use this for outdoor growing as well and make sure all plants are female and of high quality and.... FREE!!!!)

Growing Indoor

Here you most of the time grow smaller plants than outdoor because of the limited space most people have indoor.
The buds you can grow indoor though can be very fat even though the lack of hight. I have seen indoor grown "Jack Herer" buds as fat as my upper arm (and i'm pretty fat too ;O))

Indoor you have better control over pests, temperature and plant foods. You can take clones of your favourite plant and grow the excact same genetics forever.

Get the right seeds

You can grow marijuana from any seeds, but the amount of THC in the plants vary A LOT so the most important advice i can give you is to buy the absolutely best seeds available from a well known seed shop. I cannot tell you this many times enough. YOU WANT TO GET SUPERIOR SEEDS TO GROW SUPERIOR WEED! Just don't use the seeds from your joint or from the weed you bought on the street - just don't.

You only have to get the seeds once - after that you will take cuttings and make clones and can grow the plant forever.
For indoor growing i recommend Jack Herer from Sensi Seeds. It's a VERY potent multi-hybrid-strain that will give you different varieties of Sativa- and Indica dominated phenotypes

This is the basics of growing weed:
1: Find a Seed
Find the best seeds you can - better seeds (unfortunately often "better" means "more expensive") make better marijuana and yields more.

2: Plant the seed
Find a sunny place and plant the seed about 1/2 inch deep - or just throw them and use a rake. Water and cover with plastic - make sure some fresh air can enter by making holes if needed.

3: The small plants
After a couple days - maybe even a week the small sprouts should start coming up. Now you remove the plastic.

Growing weed is very easy. It can be made into a science to make the superior weed, but you can easily grow the weed that is way better than anything you have ever bought.
In nature weed will grow in poor soil with very bad conditions, so you will really have to be cruel to totally ruin the crop before ha rvest.
